On behalf of the Innisfail Triathlon Committee it is with mixed emotion we announce the Innisfail Triathlon will be cancelled.   Registration has closed and we will work with participants to provide full refunds within the next week or so. It is our intention to provide a full refund including any fees/taxes.

We tried to revive the race last year and we were unsuccessful. There were external factors we thought might contribute to the low registration and ultimately led to us cancelling last year. However, we were excited to give it a try again this year.  Again we are met with very low numbers and have come to the conclusion the race is no longer viable. 

We have come to the harsh realization the Innisfail triathlon has run its natural course and we will not be hosting this event going forward. It was a legacy that started in 1998 and we had 20+ great years. 

As a committee we feel strongly we had the right Race Director in Scott McDermott and if anyone could revive it - it would be him!  Scotts social media experience, connections, passion and energy provided an opportunity over the last couple of years to give this race more exposure than it has ever had and we still haven’t been able to reach the numbers. 

We want to express thanks to all of the volunteers and athletes who have participated in the past.  We are grateful for the support that we have received from the Town of Innisfail and all our sponsors over the years.
